Never Complain or Worry Again! – by David Franklin Farkas

It is a basic principle of metaphysics

that what  you focus on is energized and you get more of it. It does not matter whether you actually want it. If you give it energy you will get more of it. What you focus on expands.

Neuroscience has identified the part of the brain that literally searches your sensory experience all day to find what you, in effect, have been asking for. It is your faithful servant finding what it thinks you want because your are always focusing on it.
.
So, you do whatever practice you use to ‘intentionally’ focus and energize what you want. Whether it is a mainstream approach like goal setting or prayer… or from other traditions using The Law of Attraction, or casting spells, or other ways of ‘manifesting’ your desire using your will.
.
You do your practice for a short time each day.
What are you doing the rest of the time?
.
If you are like most people you do two things. Complain and worry. Complaining focuses on what you don’t like in the present moment. Worry is complaining about things you fear may happen in the future.
.
Complaining is saying that what you have asked for in your manifestation is not here yet and you don’t like what you have. Worry is saying things you do not want may show up.
.
How much do  you do that?
How much of your conversation is either complaining (anger + helplessness) or worrying (fear + helplessness?) When you focus on something, repeatedly, with emotion, what happens? You energize it and bring it to yourself… you are using all the methods of manifestation to get what you don’t want!
.
And I’m sure you have lots of help
from people who love to engage you in whining and complaining. People, and television, and news and politics and commercials and, and… all wanting to tell you what you should fear and worry about.
.
We live in a society that is a fear / worry / complaint soup. And, you, literally, give your power up to it.
.
You do it all time, and you don’t even notice. It’s a habit. Habits are invisible. They are background music.
.
Would you like a simple way to catch yourself and change the habit?
Neuroscience tells us that it takes 21 days to create a new habit in the brain. A new neural pathway to replace the old one. So you would have to stop complaining and worrying for at least that long. But, how can you even start?
A Simple Wristband.
It’s simple…
First, get a plastic wristband  like the ones for various charities and organizations. You probably have several of them in a drawer somewhere, right?
.
Put it on your wrist. Then, whenever you notice yourself complain or worry take it off the wrist it is on and put it on the other wrist.Your challenge is to have it stay on one wrist for 21 days.  That’s it. Simple.
.
No judgment. It’s not helpful to complain that you are complaining or worry that you have been worrying. Just be happy and grateful you caught yourself and move the wristband.
.
This method was developed by a group called A Complaint Free World. They focused only on complaining. I’m adding worry to this approach. The pastor who came up with the idea figured it would not take him long to finish. It took him months!
.
But, who cares?
It’s easy. It’s simple. And it works. Just add your commitment and persistence.
.
Every time you catch yourself you take back a moment of your life from complaint and fear. Chipping away at the habit every time you catch  yourself, notice what you are doing, and acknowledge it.
.
Want to put this on steroids?
Every time you catch yourself you are noticing something that you don’t really want but have been energizing and attracting into your life, let it go.
.
Just let it go… you can simply say, ‘No, that’s not what I want in my life.’ And, breath out with a sigh. The conscious, intentional letting go is very powerful!
.
You can also add, ‘What I really want is…’ and say or visualize what you DO want.
.
Every time you notice the old habits of mind and make them conscious it is a moment to intentionally choose what  you want in your life. More and more of your life will be focused on what you DO want, not on what you don’t want!
.
Be grateful for what you have. Decide what you do want and focus on that.
.
Watch the miracles happen…
