Bibliomancy is an age old tradition practiced around the world. It involves opening a book at a random page in order to divine the answers to spiritual questions. The term bibliomancy was first coined in 1753. It was originally used to determine the guilt or innocence of a person accused of witchcraft. The accused was weighed. If their weight was less than the volumes of the Bible they were deemed innocent. The practice later developed into the use of the Bible to answer metaphysical questions. Eventually bibliomancy was no longer restricted to the Bible and it came to be used with any book.

The world is changing.
.
I hear people say this a lot. They could be talking about what they see on the news every day or maybe they are upset at the shift of family values and want things to be like they were. Perhaps they are referring to the speed at which technology is spinning, much like an atom smashing particle accelerator and they feel they can’t keep up. Others, like me, notice the subtler changes. Like the shadow work being done within to bring the darker aspects into the light. More and more people are waking up. They’re asking questions, getting clearer, and paying attention to how they feel. Me too.

We have more than 5 senses as we are exploring in this series. One of the most obvious is the sense of balance. ( See links to other articles below). There is a difference between the sense of movement and the sense of balance. The first gives us a sense of our joints, muscles and bones when we move and is also called the sense of proprioception. The child develops that from rolling, crawling and walking and feeling the presence of its own body from within. You can read more about it in the link below.

From a spiritual perspective the universe is wise and carrying. Everything is organized with deep wisdom and every thing is acted out with love. Each of us has an inner driver, a direction or goal that will complete us. Like the returning of the lost soul we will head back to a place we came from, but with gained experience. The returning is like winding back your life, is like stopping your continued mistakes and acting differently as you start to follow a higher good, a higher will. Higher in the sense that it benefits a bigger whole a bigger holon.

Indigenous music sometimes seem simple in its structure with its on-going repeating themes. Despite that it has a power to pull you into a deeper state of mind. Some people need to rock themselves or we rock the baby in repeated rhythm to rest or fall asleep. The ability of repetition to take you both deeper and higher has been under estimated.

When life takes a turn and you think it isn’t in your best interest, it will trigger a lot of negative emotions. We tend to feel upset or angry, filled with fear or doubt, if we don’t understand what happened. Or how it could possibly benefit your existence. When things crumble under your feet, there you will find the challenges. As well what kind of choices you will make to deal with the new situation. Awareness is part of this way of your perception. The observer is possibly more adept to view from a different kind of perspective, to notice what takes place. To be in a different more detached place to see the picture in a broader way.

It is very easy to imagine the Victorians as dour narrow-minded moralists. While Victorian society was undeniably conventional and repressed, many Victorians were also imaginative and open to new ideas. There were great scientific advancements during the Victorian era. Charles Darwin first posited his theories of evolution, Richard Owen produced the first life-sized reconstructions of dinosaurs and Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. There were also significant developments in metaphysics and spirituality. William Westcott founded the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and Helena Blavatsky founded the Theosophical Society. Today, Blavatsky is commonly regarded as the mother of the modern mind, body, spirit movement.
