A Time of Whimsy – by David J. Little

You can listen to an audio version of this article, look further down.
A time of whimsy. Do you remember when you were a child ? Everything had a magical quality to it. Your first bike ride or swim in the ocean. Going anywhere was always an adventure, even a trip to the corner store.

When did we lose our sense of whimsy? Maybe we didn’t, it just got lost in all the day to day stuff of being an adult. I like to think it’s still there waiting to be rediscovered. Look around you, there are all kinds of magical and beautiful things in your immediate environment. It’s up to you to make yourself aware of them.

What if you got up everyday and said “Universe I am open to seeing new and whimsical things today. I open my eyes and ears to the magic that surrounds me.” How cool is that? How refreshing and energizing would that be? I think it would be wonderful.

This is one of the things I like to do every morning, if I forget or don’t have time. I can take a moment to bring my awareness to it and go from there. Wouldn’t you like to do this yourself? I think you will love it! Go ahead, take that bike ride or dip in the ocean and find your whimsy. You will thank yourself for doing it. Here’s to you and your journey.
