A Zen Hoofprint – I Am – by Bob Rush

I am. Simple, powerful and to the point. I think of this as the gateway to your divine self. Wow,what a awesome concept.
It is a declaration of being, a statement of our aliveness, a daily mantra. How then, do we approach the essence of these words.

This is a chance to lift ourselves up, rather than to denigrate and tear down, Fault finding in this day is too easy. And no, it is not coming from ego but a sense of finding a place in the universe. We rise up by loving ourselves first and foremost. By remembering to show compassion and to be grateful, we find a freedom. The power of gratitude gives purpose to the moral compass. Simple words, simple acts, simple thoughts. Exhale and remember to be grateful.

Being able to remember the beauty of the moment is the essence of life. Whenever we get stuck in the hamster wheel of life.
I am the embodiment of spirit in a human wrapper. As the miles of this journey rack up, I find myself becoming more mindful of what feeds my spirit and soul. The power of benevolence does remind us that it really is in the giving that we receive. In this incarnation , I have chosen to walk in the light and to treat all as I would wish to be treated. I am speaks to spirit.

In these times of strife, it is crucial that we come from a place of love. There is so much hate, divisiveness and negativity. And this is all in the name of making the country great. I think back to “Get Together” by the Youngbloods.

“Come on people, smile on your brother
Everybody get together, try to love one another
right now”

On the eve of Martin Luther King Jr’s. birthday, I think about a portion of his eloquence, “content of their character.” It so speaks to the essence of I am. It really is the definition of I am.

To each and everyone of you out there, stay strong! Be at peace with where you are. Enjoy your journey, the moment, the now. Be inspired, reach for the stars and know no bounds. The universe has such special gifts if we are open to them. To all of you, be blessed and be grateful. I AM – love!
