“I decided that the most subversive, revolutionary thing I could do was to show up for my life and not be ashamed.” ~Anne Lamott .
So the question is… How will you show up for life, being fully present or simply Existing?
It is Monday morning and I wanted to have a bit of fun to start my day, so decided to take a quiz to see how much of a risk taker I am on. Turns out I like to push the envelope and should maybe scale it back a bit, according to this quiz.
Anything that is pleasing to the senses can be calledsensuous. The feel of a soft cashmere sweater on your skin, the taste of dark chocolate, even the smell of your favorite person — all of these can be sensuous experiences.
From the beginning of my journey with the Magic Happens, Kathleen has taught the importance and value of telling a great story that engages the audience vs. selling yourself or your product. .
Habits are a funny thing, we get comfy with what we think is the WAY instead of being open to NEW change and really asking ourselves, “How’s that working for you?” So I asked this question of myself and looked at the way I have been promoting my business to see whether it is really working in increasing my audience and sales.
Life would be wonderful if every day we awoke; engines fired up and ready to receive perfect days. The truth is that life sometimes gets messy and every day brings new adventures and sometimes challenges. . Yes, it is easy to say smile and feel grateful for the things that show up in life. What if what shows up is pain, fear, sadness, anger, or disappointment…..that is when I remember, despite how things appear to be in the moment; every day things do get better and facing the challenges gets a little easier to confront and work with, when you are better prepared.
March is here and the children are excited. School Break brings far away holidays for many and special activities more local for others. My grandson is off to New York from Toronto with his mom and another mom and her son. A mom and son adventure to Gramma’s house. There will be lots of cookies awaiting and fun things to do when they arrive. The drive, knowing my daughter; will be packed with games, songs, and short stops to see the country side.
It saddens me a little, and yet at the same time opened a door; to discover how many of us are are not truly comfortable in our own skin. Every day I meet woman who put themselves on the bottom of their TO DO list, and giving to family, friends, work, and what they consider important tasks at hand are in the top five. What we often forget is that when we are feeling good about ourselves, comfortable enough in our own skin, making time to tell ourselves the wonderful things we are about, it is energy just as the opposite is true.
Genuine pleasure is one of the best ways to get a glimpse and bask in the warmth of your soul’s smile. Sadly, our ability to play dissipates soon after our pre teens. We stop realizing the importance of playing, relaxing and the sheer feeling of joy it brings forth. As we get older we can’t think of activities that create those sensations. We are so tired all we can do is think of work and recuperation. Reviving ourselves over the weekend just so we can work harder on Monday, is NOT relaxation. It is survival.
So much fun to begin something new I think. You get a chance to redo anything that didn’t work or serve your highest good! Like the beginning of a new week after a weekend of relaxing and refreshing your mind, you get to jump back in the sadle and begin to create. I love the fact that living in the now doesn’t keep us attached to yesterday. Good thing because it is gone and cannot be brought back unless of course it was the best day ever and then maybe you want a replay.
The good news is IT IS!!!! Everything we think and everything we do is a result of the choices we make. You have a choice to buy into the media and live in a small world of fear and sadness OR you can choose to look for the GREATNESS in life and the moments that makes us smile and focus on how that feels!

Some have labelled me as eclectic, a person who stands out in a crowd with a large presence! I take this as a compliment. Life is too short to wear matching socks and as a person of larger size, I realized early in my journey the value of highlighting the good parts. Embellishwhat you feel good about whether that be with jewels, a funky hair cut or unique clothing.
This weekend I made some great tasting doggie treats for my Mackenzie. All natural infused with oils that are safe for him and he loved them! Here is the recipe so you can gift something nice to your furry pet. I also have a natural Pet Shampoo!

As a parent, I remember that single word, the one; often irritating word coming from our beautiful child’s mouth every time you ask them to do something… . WHY? Time after time in the course of the day of a small child, they ask…WHY? WHY? WHY?
So here we are in cold season, people coughing, blowing their noses, sore and achy and YOU just want to stay 50 feet away from them. Well it is not always that easy and it is important to arm your medicine cabinet with things that will at the least, cut the time back on how YUCKY you feel.
Colouring books for adults have become the latest trend, and unlike some fads, this one is actually really good for you. According to clinical psychologist Ben Michaelis, coloring is a stress-free activity that relaxes the amygdala — the fear center of the brain — and allows your mind to get the rest it needs. But coloring has other indirect health benefits, as well.
We all experience times in life where we feel things are not going well. No one is happy with those moments when traffic is not moving, we are running late, our kids won’t listen, or things are out of control at work. When bad news shows up it can be earth-shattering.
