Sitting here looking out my window, got me to pondering about how much things change and how little things change. The leaves are changing, it’s autumn now. Autumn, like all the other seasons, is a wonderful time of year. It represents yet another transition and yet it is similar to every other autumn. Seasons flow from one to another, like water.
May is such a wonderful month. Warm days start to appear, nature is beginning to burst with colour and the bugs haven’t come out to play yet. I can’t imagine a better month in the year. Peter and I have begun talking about camping trips and holidays, we’ve started planting our flowers and veggies in our garden and we’ve started hiking. May is like the gate way to summer and it feels so good to breathe in the warm air and soak up some sun.
April always makes me think of little children in raincoats and rubber boots, holding their umbrella’s and walking through rain puddles. It also makes me think of baby bunnies, jelly beans and Easter egg hunts. It really is a cute time of year filled with tender pastel colours, the new and fresh part of the year invites us all to consider where we are going and what we want to grow through this year. While there are opportunities to contemplate our lives at every point in the year, the early spring is one of the best as it suggests a freshness other parts of the year are missing.
How is your February going? I think of February as the Tween month. It’s a month where nothing much is happening and it is a great month for just catching up on some of the things that have been put off or getting out to play a little.
Happy New Year! A New Year is delicious, isn’t it? It has the feel of an opportunity to redefine ourselves and that is what leads so many of us to make New Year’s resolutions. Which are fine, if it works for you. Me, not so much.
Yay! December means the holidays are almost here! I really love the holidays, it just so much fun. And yes, it is also a lot of work but isn’t everything worth while? I love the work. The shopping and the cooking and the wrapping and the visiting. It is just wonderful how people interact over the holidays.
November is a month of transition moving closer to the winter months sometimes with ease and sometimes not so much. It’s supposed to snow in a couple of days here in my corner of the world. I always loved November, it’s a time for fireplaces, warm socks and snuggly sweaters. I like to bake more often as well. Could there even be a better aroma then fresh baked bread and fresh brewed coffee? Ah yes, November is a time of comforts and coziness.
We love October in the Northern Hemisphere. Autumn is in full bloom, the bugs are mostly bedded down for the winter, the sun is still fairly high in the sky and we get to celebrate Halloween at the close of the month.

It is so simple and so perfect that everyone who is anyone in personal or spiritual development is talking about it in some way, shape or form. Do you know what it is?

I’ve been thrown into a number of situations this year that had the look and feel of powerlessness. I say ‘look and feel’ because I’ve watched other people in similar situations and I’ve noticed that most people do allow themselves to be powerless. Turbulence often leaves one trying to stay on their feet! I understand though that we are never powerless and I have used this year to hone my self empowerment skills. If I felt powerless, that would simply mean that my approach was wrong – nothing more. Work can always be done to change how we feel. 🙂
