DIY Garden Totems – by Sheri Sennhauser

As I write this, it is mid July and my garden is in full bloom, the pond plants are lazily shading the koi and the fairies are dancing and playing all over the yard.  I want something fun and quirky for my garden, don’t want the fairies getting bored with their surroundings!  I hit Pinterest and found a bunch of really interesting pictures of garden totems made from old dishes, cups, saucers etc., the choices were endless.  So, I decided to give it a try and I am hooked.

Grace and the Choices We Make – by Sheri Sennhauser

Grace is not something you do, it is who you are. Living in Grace, for me, is similar to being a bride on her wedding day. She walks down the aisle with a veil over her face,  seeing but not clearly.  When the veil is lifted, her vision becomes clear and she is free to move to the next phase in life.

How to be Creative – by Sheri Sennhauser

I would like to introduce you to my latest dining room table centerpiece.. I tend to change them seasonally but this not always a rule, it’s more of a guideline (lol)  depends on my mood!  I chose Aphrodite very carefully.  We are in Spring and the earth is renewing, the birds are singing, people are out enjoying the weather. It’s time for love and all things new.  She makes me smile every time I walk into the room.

I Haven’t Told Anyone this Before But… – by Sheri Sennhauser

I’m going to tell you now…

My soul is tired and has been seeking peace that seems to allude it.  I move between shadows and light attempting to live in the Balance that I teach however it is has been extremely difficult to find and hold on too.  The past year has been a series of ultra highs or ultra lows.  The illusion of balance comes with the highs and is broken when the lows pierce the armor I build around myself.

Girl Tribe and Momspired – by Sheri Sennhauser

When we dare to dream and chase rainbows our lives become empowered!  I have been getting to know Kim McConaghy for quite some time and it all started at a little Holistic Heath fair in Forest Ontario.  Since meeting that day I have felt like part of her family.  Kim, her mom Elly, Aunt Dori and her mother-in-law, Jodi now attend my meditation circles and have helped promote my services in more ways than I can say thank you!  But THANK YOU!!

Benefits of Bringing Meditation into the Workplace – by Sheri Sennhauser

Recently, I had the honour of designing a meditation retreat for 4 fabulous ladies as part of a quarterly team building exercise!  It was a joy to spend the afternoon with Danielle, Denise, Cathy and Nicole from Endbridge’s, Projects and Accounting Department.  The entire afternoon was devoted to their sense of self and allowing their minds to be free.  We discussed smudging, crystals, Reiki and of course had a beautiful guided meditation.  To finish up our day, we did a little adult colouring,  It was fascinating to watch each lady create their own art… the colours they chose, the way they filled in the lines.  You could see that in one short afternoon their minds had already shifted from the daily routine to a more playful, thinking outside of box mode.  Although ladies, I will have my hands on you again and I will have you painting outside the lines!!!!

Everything is Coming up Roses! – by Sheri Sennhauser

I absolutely love the fragrance of beautiful rose!  How can you be in a bad mood once you have inhaled the unique aroma of a rose in full bloom!?!  Roses have long been associated with love, friendship, passion and intimacy.  Cleopatra was rumored to bathe with rose petals, that sounds so decadent and simply wonderful.

What Karma Is and Is Not – by Sheri Sennhauser

I have been saddened by a few posts on social media depicting Karma as some kind of cosmic punishment system.  The notion that one can wish bad things on others for perceived wrongs is an injustice to the actual meaning of the 12 laws of Karma.  Here are two examples of quotes I found on Pinterest and Facebook:

The Dandelion Elixir – by Sheri Sennhauser

I have wanted to do another DIY for a long time however time and patience got away from me.  I am back to share this easy recipe for Dandelion Elixir, aka infused olive oil.  You can apply this technique to almost any flower you would like but right now dandelions are in abundance around my yard and as long as I leave a few to share with the bees I’m happy with my choice.

Sacred Circles – by Sheri Sennhauser

Building circles that sustain, nurture and heal can bring communities and people closer to one another.  Circles have no end and no beginning, they exist and if we are mindful they grow.  There is nothing more powerful then a group of people standing together each with their own talent to enhance the circle.  When they sit in circle they compromise, actively listen, give and receive compassion but more importantly they make decisions to help strengthen the circle and everyone in it.

Mindfulness, Meditation and Teaching our Kids – by Sheri Sennhauser

Recently, I have been working a lot within my community with Dr. Brigitte Hynes Taylor and Dawn Mitchell to provide kids with a well rounded day program for creativity, physical exercise and nutrition.  Mind/Body/Spirit is just as important for children as it is for adults.   The Dalai Lama believes that if we teach 8 year olds how to meditate we could eliminate violence within a generation!  Personally I would love to be a part of that.

Inspired Digi’s from Screech Owl Studio – by Sheri Sennhauser

I have been creating like crazy lately!!! It must be the change in the season I am so loving saying goodbye to winter and welcoming back the sun.  A while back I promised a close friend I would make her a Book Of Shadows and until I was sidelined with the nastiest flu bug I have ever met everything was going tickety boo.  However wrestling with this particular outbreak proved to be prolonged.  I have the covers done, some parchment tea dyed and the digital kit I purchased, printed and ready to go.

L.I.F.E. Nutrition and The Art of Clean Eating – by Sheri Sennhauser

I have a confession to make…… up until January of this year the thought of “clean eating” scared the heck out of me.  My focus was always about loss.  I didn’t want to stop eating certain things and couldn’t bring myself to look at the substitutions seriously.  I would find a recipe and as soon as there was an ingredient I had never had before my nose turned up, my upper lip would  curl and the word “YUCK” was passing through my lips.

Lavender Infused Natural Cleaning Product – by Sheri Sennhauser

I wanted to share a quick and natural cleaning product that is easy to make, has no chemicals added and is fairly cheap.  If you have lavender plants in your garden this is a great way to utilize them, you can use the plant either fresh or dried.  I enjoy putting the buds and the leaves into the infusion I find it makes a stronger cleaner and nothing goes to waste!  If you don’t have lavender plants you can substitute lavender essential oil, just add 10 drops of essential oil for every one cup of water.

The Coming of the Owl – by Sheri Sennhauser

I am not aging.  I am transforming from the fertile Hare Mother to the Wise Owl.  I have seen her everywhere I look lately, she is calling to me, guiding me to the next phase in my life.  There is an inherent beauty to the owl and the gifts she brings when a woman is changing and evolving.  I do not fear the mystery but rather embrace it.  I can feel her stroking my soul filling me with a new wonder and a new outlook.  She is telling me to be fluid and accept my new life without reservation.  She is encouraging me to see each wrinkle, stretch mark and scar as a memory or a lesson learned, they are not ugly because they are a part of me and a part of my legacy.

Sharing The Local Community – by Sheri Sennhauser

Lately I have noticed there isn’t a lot of sharing or promoting of smaller businesses.  The cute little shops we love to go in or visit webpages exist only as long as they are utilized.  It’s important we support the folks who work so hard to bring us their one of a kind products and services.  We should support one another in our endeavours as a global community and keep the uniqueness of a handmade gift or service geared to our well being.
