ReMember Me? .
Ahhh-it’s good to be back as an author of TMH! So, I guess that makes me a re-member:) .
What have I been up to? Grand adventures I tell ya! ok, I admit “grand” is a bit of a stretch BUT eh it’s all good. Speaking of good and grand I want to share one of my latest treasure hunting adventures. To qualify as a Grand adventure there must be a few twists and turns otherwise it’s just a regular ole road trip.
I thought I was tough! Not like bad-ass, knock-down, drag-out, punch you in the face tough BUT more like a strong constitution/fortitude tough.
Until, almost 4 weeks to this date, I receive a phone call from the spousal unit while traveling in another state that has changed and will change our lives. He said he found our house. At first I thought, whaaa?
If there’s been a constant in my life it’s music. I was always surrounded by music. My mom listening to AM radio, specifically WOWO out of Ft. Wayne Indiana, my dad rockin’ out to Pink Floyd, The Stones, AWB, Skynard on his car 8-Track.
When you read my column in this issue you’ll discover I lived a part of my life in survival mode. Not that ‘survival” is negative, as it IS one step above existing. Buy ya know to exist, survive, strive and thrive in life it takes effort, personal effort, labor for constructive unfoldment.
This may look like your typical rock but I cherish it.
Last Saturday I went to the marina bathroom and as I walked outside there stood a young mom with her little boy. The little boy, approx. 4-5 yrs old looked at me and asked, ” can I have a hug?” I said absolutely. Then he asked for another one….sure. His mom probably thought he was bothering me – hardly. In a stern voice she told him to leave me alone. I said i love his energy…he has a good soul.
The other day I was reading Regina Brett’s 45 Life Lessons. Yeah, I’m a list kinda gal-love ’em! Anyway, I got to #43 “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.” (I’ve included her entire list at the end of the article).
Just in time for summer, well for the northern Hemisphere.
I love making suncatchers, it’s my contemplation time and I enjoy watching the sun dance and prance when it catches one of the mirrors~it’s fun to see the orbs in play! As an added bonus, hummingbirds love them too!
I’ll never forget Emma Watson. Let me take you back to the summer of ’74, Zoar, Ohio. I was 11 yrs. old and spent a lot of time alone exploring, experiencing the woods, streams and farm fields. One day I discovered a new pasture. I stopped to admire and hopefully pet a horse. While standing on the bottom rail of the fence I heard someone say, “Hello, hello, hello.” I looked around-no one, nothing. Then a high-pitched screeching “Hello, HELLOOOO.”
