Mercedes de Acosta
was a Spanish-American poet born in New York City on 1 March, 1893. Apart from publishing three volumes of poetry, she also wrote a novel and numerous stage plays. Mercedes saw herself as a spiritual explorer. She studied Theosophy and followed the teachings of the Indian mystic, Ramana Maharshi. He was considered to be an avatar, an incarnation of a deity on earth. He encouraged her to develop God Realisation, to see the divine in all things. She practised yoga, studied astrology and believed in reincarnation. She was a friend of the poet Kahlil Gibran, who introduced her to the mystical Hindu texts of the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. Mercedes is perhaps best known as the lover and confidante of the Hollywood actress, Greta Garbo. But Mercedes was much more than Garbo’s intimate, she was her spiritual guide, steering her on a journey to the heart of the ancient eastern traditions. As they sat together one night on a mountain top in Casa del Mare, Mercedes revealed the secrets of the Ageless Wisdom to Greta Garbo. They remained there the whole night, talking about karma, the origins of the universe and the destiny of humanity.

I own my truth and am responsible for my thoughts and actions always. That is a choice I made a long time ago. I know what effect it may have on the world around me if I don’t act and think from a place within my heart where Love resides and is Master. Not always able to tap into this sacred place within myself. When emotions are stirring up my state of mind, creating doubt or emotions of frustration. The positive and the negative, it is all about the energy which is being send outwards. Believe it or not, we are able and capable to manipulate as well to heal with our mindset and actions. When it comes down to it, we all are making choices at one point in which direction we will let life take its course.

What would you do if you knew you could not fail? You have likely heard these words before and if you attempted to answer this question, you likely came up with all kinds of reasons why you could never achieve what you really want.
.
What if you could remove all those blocks and excuses for not moving in the direction of the desires you buried deep within you because you feel it is simply unattainable?

Oh my God…
.
What do you think of when you think of God? Who do you think of? Is it a person or something different?
.
I like to think it is something different for everyone. We can’t put our definition of God, Creator or Spirituality into someone else’s version of it. There is nothing wrong with having your own vision of the Universe, in fact, this probably a lot easier. How could we conform to someone else’s idea of the Creator? I believe that would be extremely difficult!

External physical nature is easy to observe and relate to. The internal world is so subtle that many people doubt its existence.
.
The outer nature is easy to perceive because it is material, consisting of different components or parts and it has a strong deterministic or causal element. We can touch nature, we can discern stones, plants and animals and we can predict outcomes from experience and knowledge. In short you can say we are on top of it. We observe it as from the peak of the mountain and our intelligence can understand it.

Recalibrating The Present – by Mindy A. Early

A catharsis about living in the present moment caught me off guard last week. On this run-of-the-mill morning, I was walking down the sidewalk on my way to a meeting. For the third time in a matter of minutes, I checked my phone to get yet another reassurance that I’d reach my destination on time. The clock showed good news, but still I recalculated the number of blocks left on my journey so I could be absolutely sure.

March may come in like a lion, but there’s no time like the present to start treating yourself as gently as a lamb. Making changes to the things we do can have a powerful impact on our lives, but we mustn’t forget to apply this same process to how we
think – especially when it comes to how we think about ourselves.

Be still. Breathe. Relax. Take in another breath of air. This is your body’s means for keeping you alive. This simple act that your body performs day after day, moment by moment, most often without your awareness, is essential for your survival. Just like this simple act has greatness within it, you too, whom you may think is small and insignificant, also have greatness within you and it is this greatness that you are here to share with the world.

Exploring the Mystery of Hermes Trismegistus – by Moon Laramie

You can listen to an audio version of this article, look further down.
.
.
Hermes Trismegistus
is an ancient sage whose story is steeped in mystery. Some scholars believe he invented the Egyptian hieroglyphic system, others that he built the pyramids, created the Greek alphabet and even wrote the Chinese divinatory book of I Ching. To early Christians, he was a great savant, who preceded Moses and received revelations from God. In wider terms he is often seen as the founder of civilisation, the creator of medicine, law, mathematics and philosophy. He is accredited as the author of the foundational mystical writings known as the Hermetica. The Christian saint and theologian, Clement of Alexandria, attributed forty-two books to him in total although some academics suggest the number may run into the tens of thousands. The name Trismegistus means ‘thrice great’. It refers to Hermes knowledge of the three essential aspects of universal wisdom: astrology, alchemy and magic. The key to unravelling the mystery of Hermes Trismegistus is to be found in Hellenistic Egypt.

Holonity – The sense of thought – by Andreas N. Bjørndal

Yes, you can sense your own thinking as well as the thinking of another. Last month, we explored the sense of words but even deeper than words is the perception of concepts. We did not discriminate it much last time. Now, we are ready to look into this more subtle level. For some people the level of words is what they relate to. To perceive the other person’s way of thinking is to get beyond the words, to get even closer to the core of their identity.
When Descartes formulated “cogito ergo sum” he understood the close connection between the thinking and the awareness of an individual’s identity.
