Have you ever asked a total stranger for a recommendation?

I’ll bet you have.

Maybe you found yourself in an unfamiliar area and asked for directions? Though you might at first miss it… this is asking someone to recommend a useful path to a specific location.

The Editor’s Note

Ah February! The lovely month of cold and snow and ahhhh the winter is half over. Yippee!!

The theme for the feature articles for February is ‘recommend’ and a funny thing happened on the way to February – we planned a review section without realizing the coincidence. And how serendipitous is that?

Tech note – by Peter

First month of 2015 has passed and The Magic Happens online Magazine already had 320.528 visits, and 4.089 different people have read more than 1 article. And we are very close to reaching 2.000 listens on our Radioshow.  How cool is that!  This increased number of hits could push us past 4 million visits this year.  Of course this also puts more pressure on our server provider, and I’m looking into a solution that can handle that amount of traffic … It’s a good feeling that we are expanding.

Perspective – The Book – by Kat McCarthy

My Review of the Book: Perspective – It’s all about replacing one thought with another.

Recently I had the opportunity to read this little gem by award winning bestselling author Annette Rochelle Aben. Annette is a friend of mine and an editor here at The Magic Happens so I know her fairly well and I believe I can safely say that her intention for her book was to spread joy and show how easy it is to replace one thought with another.

Objects May Appear Closer – by Kat McCarthy

I don’t know about the rest of you but I do know that I am more than capable of taking things way more seriously than I need to. Especially – at least in the past – myself. And that has allowed me to learn a few things along the way.

May I Suggest? – by Kat McCarthy

That you love with complete abandon.
That you create like you are the creator.
That you cook like you are cooking for royalty.
That you speak like you can never be hurt.
That you play like you never have to work.
That you breathe like it gives you life.
That you dream like anything is possible.IMG_2718b
That you sing like you were an angel.
That you relax like you have nothing to do.
That you read like the story is alive.
That you walk like you have somewhere to go.
That you laugh like it’s the funniest thing ever.
That you work like you love what you do.
That you listen like there is no other sound.
That you pay attention like it will save your life.
That you learn like it will save your future.
That you be the friend you wish you had.

Inspired to Review – by Kat McCarthy

The word review means to re-examine or to summarize the major points about a thing or an idea. It should be presented in descending order of importance or chronological order, depending on your preference and what you are trying to relay.

Soul Stirrings – By Bob Rush

Once again the White Rabbit, aka Bob Rush, is a bit slow to the party. I think that is how I seem to operate. I’ll just try to Zen it and not worry so much. Anyway, since I missed last month, I’m am glad to get back in the swing of things. Hope everybody is off to a rollickin good start to 2015. After the hell of a roller coaster ride I had in 2014, this year is bound to be full of magic. Keep the faith!!!

Melissa Ward – Take 2 :)

I found the first article I wrote back for The Magic Happens from June 2008 in the archives of my computer.  I giggled as much of it still holds true – but by way of introducing myself, I think I will change it up a bit.
alwaysbehuman2My name is Melissa Ward.  I own a web development, social media marketing company in upstate New York.  My job is to help people and companies expand their online reach and increase their income.
