A Zen Hoof Print – by Bob Rush

Its been kind of a weird month. At my job, it’s foaling season and with that we wait with anticipation for the arrival of four foals. Been a busy time, with checks of the mares every couple of hours. My boss and mentor takes the lion’s share of the watch  and has us novices assist as needed. Very exciting time.

Develop Into A Better Person – by Frank

When I was a youth (pronounced “yoot” which rhymes with shoot or hoot) I used to begin scholastic writing assignments with the definition of the subject I was writing about. I mean the definitions make it sound like “develop” is a good thing, but then they use it in a sentence and it doesn’t sound so good. “The cancer developed over a three year period.” “As a result of the ruling, animosity between the two groups developed almost immediately.”

Feel and Become – by Kristine Grün

.

This months dual theme Feel/Become made me think of a very true statement: ‘Not until we are lost, do we begin to find ourselves’.
.
Being consiously ‘Lost’ is a feeling. We have to feel to begin to find ourselves. Tragicly this makes sense to me!
.
Do we have to be broken to build ourselves up again, by realistic measures, which we are now able to see? We have to be lost enough to bother..

ANI-SMILES – The : )’s Have It! – by Michelle

Have you ever noticed some animals seem to be smiling? Ani-Smiles are contagious—unless of course the onlooker is in an intensely pernicious snit, or an otherwise deeply dark disposition–otherwise smiles bounce blithely from one face to another. Smiles are akin to laughter that way, evoking a lighthearted response in all but the most sullen of people. And sometimes perhaps even them.

When Bad Things Happen – by Tanya

My Dad always used to tell me, “Bad things happen in life so the faster you accept that the better.”
.
Dad was a man of few words, but his words always made a lasting impression.
.
He never said anything to be hurtful.  He just wanted me to learn to take personal responsibility for my life, and to understand that bad things happen… even to good people.

A new pathway to “Become” – by Kc

The word “Become” sounds like a finalization, for example “he has become an engineer”. Which to me is not something that I as a human being feel I have reached. Development changes over time, and becomes different with experiences dependent on the person involved.
I have realised throughout my time and journey that to become is never a definitive for me. I started out as someone’s baby, a part of a family to then become the head of my own family unit. To see my own daughter become a new link in the family chain when she became a mother.

How Do You Feel Around Certain People? – by Diana

Have you ever had the feeling of being “run over by a truck” after the friend you spent time with has left? When you don’t have strong boundaries and leak out your energy to another, they feel energized and you feel like it is time for a nap .You are allowing this. Most people do not take responsibility for their part (it is All your part) and blame the other person. “She is an energy vampire” or “I don’t want to be around negative people.”

Become – By Jonathan Ojanpera

If I could invent myself over and over again, I might become.
.
If there was a way to escape the routine of life, its mundane, the ritual, I may become.
.
To set aside the norm and break through the barrier that keeps me earth bound, I could become.
.
When I let go of my mind’s whispers of untruth, I am becoming.
.
Now there is nothing here but my essence, I have become. I am a blank page longing to be filled with the magic of what I may become.

I Can Still See You – by Annette

‘Neath the beauty of tiger lilies in bloom, we laid her to rest on the 3rd of June. The friend with no equal, the companion of years; her grave bathed in sunshine and heavenly tears. It is comforting in more than the ordinary ways, to have a living headstone upon which to gaze. Where the squirrels play and the birds do visit making the visual touching and exquisite. Being outside was what she loved the most so it is beautiful that her grave play gracious host. That hole wasn’t there only four years ago, it was merely a patch where grass did grow. Now it is the visual reminder of when a loved one moved on to dance with the blooming tiger lilies in the full day sun!  I love you Baby!

Being and Becoming – by Shuddhaanandaa Brahmachari

The very foundation of eastern philosophy is Being and Becoming. To Be and to Become. Our existential reality is our Being and Becoming.
.
The drive to search for Truth is innate in man. Man is essentially a seeker, ever restless. It is as if in some distant past, we were with the Divine, one with the Beloved, but then were suddenly separated, and found our own identity apart from God. Our search in every facet of life is essentially a search for God, the One with whom we were closely connected and then lost touch. Now we are trying to return to that closeness, and so every material pleasure, every bit of knowledge and adventure, becomes more like a hunt for that Unknown Truth. We will never rest till we are back with our Beloved. Nothing will satisfy us, nothing will quench our thirst, our “What next?” syndrome will drive us till we are one with our Beloved.

Your Success Begins With the Right Mindset – by Gery

Life is filled with opportunities to grow and learn. We learn from the victories as well as the defeats. The values that come from those experiences are the building blocks to being successful in future endeavors. I have said many times that within our defeats lie the greatest keys to future successes. However, you can neither succeed nor fail at what you are pursuing without first making an attempt at it. The nagging question is always, where do I begin. The sarcastic, yet obvious answer is… at the beginning, of course. So it is with creating the positive mindset which is a key component as you make the journey. Without it you may start but it is doubtful you will finish without the scars of battle. That is if you finish at all

BECOMING – By Lee Pryke

How are you feeling about you?
.
I love me and that’s ok… IN FACT it is better than ok!
.
.
All too often, we forget about the great achievements in our lives and focus on the shifts that occur as a result of these achievements, which some times to the INNER CRITIC in our heads appear as failures, when in fact they are temporary adjustments physically or emotionally that to the unseen eye are necessary for our survival and success of the new achievement.

A Cosmic Smack – by Bob Rush

Feeling is a powerful life force, yet misunderstood and misinterpreted. People tend to look at those who can express their feelings as soft, weak, new age silly or just plain emotional. Society tends to be a guilty party. Men don’t cry. Why not? Just some stupid stereotypes.

I Am – by Mary K

Become Who You Are.
.
I love the fact that each day I am choosing to BECOME whatever I want!
.
You might be tempted to call me crazy… and you most certainly would not be the first… but today I can declare this truth loud and clear because I understand that a life plays out only as we choose. And we make hundreds, if not thousands of choices every single day. It is the accumulation of these choices that dictate who, how and what we have become. Right here, right now.
