Don’t Know Why, I Just Blue ~ by Annette

I Don't Know Why I Just Blue

I have to say, there is precious little that can stop me in my tracks quicker than a bright blue sky. Regardless of what I am doing or in the process of doing I will STOP what I am doing do to spend some time to admire the blue sky (I have been known to pull the van over and take pictures of and commune with a bright blue sky). Why do I find them so fascinating? I have no idea honestly I don’t, I only know that the more intense they are and brighter they pop, the quicker they will endear themselves to me.

Perhaps when I look at them I am transported to a cosmic sea of possibilities, set adrift on the ocean above my head where I may or may not experience anything other than a complete disconnect from anything other than the sensation of belonging to something greater than myself in my physical state. Perhaps but in reality I just know that I smile and that makes me feel good.

Now they don’t have to be bare, I appreciate an interesting cloud formation or even an arrangement of trees, with or without leaves in view; in fact the contrast can give me hours of contemplative joy. I have taken several of the most intriguing (to me) photos and had post cards or greeting cards created so I could share my enthusiasm with others.

It would be my wish for the world’s inhabitants that they carve out some space in their lives to appreciate the beauty around them, to observe that which is around them with awe and wonder. If we could do this we might become compassionate and humble participants in life and as such find peace in our hearts. Or perhaps we may just find an appreciation for blue skies, either way it’s all good!

“Peace in our Hearts” … yes we all need more of that Annette … and committing to the time that gives us a feeling of “rest” or a feeling of having “an oasis within” is a key to it all … it’s the philosophers stone …
