Exploring Our Inner Self – by Shuddhaanandaa Brahmachari

Life is a neutral gift of the Universe to each one of us. It is infinite in its scope for exploration and realization. It is part of the human condition to feel a deep sense that all of life needs to be experienced. When exploration of the external world comes to a point where we have seen it, tasted it, and are still feeling the urge to seek and search, then a new horizon opens. This new, deep urge to find the ultimate answers comes either when we suddenly bump into a very difficult ordeal or situation of life, or when we come in contact with a holy person who inspires us by their very presence to begin the journey within.

We humans are born to explore the full potential of being human. We have our mental, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual potentials of infinite expansion, and the foundation for our journey is a calm mind. As the mind grows calmer through meditation and mindful living, it creates a great difference in our relationships, our spiritual practice, and where we focus our energy.

We mustn’t lose ourselves by overlooking this need to search our inner world where lies the key to unlock the treasure of non-dependent happiness. It is the love with which the inner journey is taken, the emotion behind it, and the longing to be in our sacred shrine undisturbed which is important. It is the perseverance. It is the deepest conviction to observe the infinite ground of the mind that is hidden from the normal sight of our daily mechanical, repetitive life.

The key is in the mind. The treasure is hidden in the unconscious layers of our own mind. It is our consistency, our commitment, our deepest yearning to explore that inner ground within us in a gradual process of self-discovery that is the purpose of human birth. We may postpone being calm and tranquil by focusing on the external, but we can always draw our outflowing energy back to the inner source again. The sooner we begin it, the better for us. Breathe, meditate and celebrate.

A life lived without knowing the true-life principle is lifeless. It is a sign that we have not recognized the infinite possibilities waiting to be discovered. When we get obsessed with what is outside of us we miss that the vast continent of pure love inside us is alive and waiting to be embraced! We humans are born to examine the non-physical dimension hidden in everything that surrounds our daily life. Our passion to uncover the hidden treasure of spiritual reality is our OWN journey, our pilgrimage.

Let us live each day, each moment, and each breath in the awareness of the infinite gifts that we have: our unique good qualities, our innate potentials, and our mission and vision of life. We are here for a purpose. Only when we become aware of our inner resources can we manifest them to translate our visions and wishes to reality. Each one of us is unique and incomparable; we are loved by the universe as we ARE! When we are in love with life, in love with our self, we try to rediscover the hidden continents within us, unseen, untapped, only waiting to be explored.
