Goldwing Blast with kids – by Peter

So we finally decided to go looking for a Motorcycle that could take me and my wife on very long trips for our vacation this year. My enduro, a Honda Transalp, is an awesome bike that can take me anywhere, but with the Mrs. and a huge load of luggage, no, I don’t think so. We were looking at many bikes in the Touring segment and one spring afternoon I found her – “Scarlet” – a 18 year old Goldwing 1500 Aspencade. And what a Blast! I never knew that riding could be THAT much fun. It’s SMOOTH and that low noise makes it a pleasure to drive hour after hour after hour after hour.

Did I mention that it was smooth? – LOL.

I can even bring the kids, Aidan and Gracie, for long safe trips. They sing songs and make up stories about the Goldwing and all the nice bikers we meet on our trips. Wind in the hair and in the beard – Oh yeah!

There is only one problem for my passengers, after a 15 or so minutes they tend to fall asleep! What?
Yup .. Even the kids.

Like the other day, I started to get a little worried during one of the trips with little Gracie. So I stopped, turned, and asked why she stopped talking – she talks all the time normally – She looked sleepy at me and mumbled: “It’s just so pleasant Papa, go on, go on the Go'(w)ing”. I laughed in my beard, made sure that the armrests were tighten and continued on the trip home.

What fun!

Enjoy your day.

Sounds like so much fun! I have to admit, I am NOT a motorcycle person however, I do see the appeal. Happy trails!
