Many of the old cultures speak of a Tree of Life. It is a famous concept in the Bible and at the core symbol of Kabbalah and many other old cultures. The Vikings spoke about a universal tree called Yggdrasil and the Chinese spoke about the Heavenly stems and branches.
The latest discoveries in science, has given us the possibility to create pictures of the close universe with all its galaxies making clusters and lines like roads of star-light. These close clusters of galaxies make a structure looking very much like a tree (see picture).
Is it possible that earlier cultures could perceive this huge intergalactic structure without modern technology?
The easiest explanation of the widespread use of a tree as an analogy to our connection with the universe, or to the basic structure of the universe is the tree as a biological huge plant reaching up to heaven and hence becoming a symbol of the connection with the heavens.
But we will now explore the possibility of Laniakea as the origin of the universal tree.
Man and cosmos
People looking at the starry sky could easily imagine how it would be to float out there. There are stories about many old cultures connecting to the stars based on orientation of their buildings. The basic timelines and many festivities and celebrations are based on the movement of the sun, earth and moon. The year month, week and day are all based on these relations.
Gods in the early cultures reigned and habited the heaven. A lot of science fiction plays out its story in a universe where we can travel and live.
Is there something deep in our psyche that knows there is a connection?
From a modern and scientific view point we would need advanced technology to reach out into the cosmos on the other side more and more people accept that the universe must have a uniformity and that there must be life many places. Some of these more advanced than our culture might be visiting us from outer space more than we are able to perceive.
There are also other world views like the one seeing the universe as energy. Even Albert Einstein said: “Concerning matter, we have been all wrong. What we have called matter is energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the senses. There is no matter.”
When we look at the universe as energy we open up to vibrations of cosmic radiation and gravitational waves interconnecting into a cosmic music. There could be levels of communication like the whales communicating huge distances in the oceans that we today do not understand yet.
A more advanced perspective is that everything in the universe is awareness. Based on Einstein sentence above I would say “Concerning reality, we have been all wrong. What we have called matter and energy is awareness, whose vibrations have been so lowered as to be perceptible and accepted to the mind and senses. There is no matter nor energy only awareness.”
The first materialistic world view is the realistic, the last is called the relativistic and the middle I call the energetic world view.
The last opens up to a changed awareness an higher vibration of perception as a key to connect to nature and the universe in a different way.
I remember a peer student in high school that had started some yoga breathing exercises and came running into the school yard screaming “I have lost my self, I have lost my soul”. He was in deep agony, suffering and very scared.
I asked him what had happened and he said that as he was practising his breathing exercises again and again to try to attain a spiritual experience. During this practice he suddenly left his body and in a split second was drifting in the universe. He was diagnosed with psychosis and spent years in a mental hospital that could not help him.
Was his experience real or a delusion?
He said he was drifting among the stars and could not find his way back and this feeling of being lost out there had scared him so much that he was afraid of experiencing it again.
A patient of mine complained that sometimes he would wake up from his sleep, sitting up and realizing the lamp hanging from the ceiling was standing up like a flower next to him. Then he would see himself lying in the bed appearing to be above him. As he would realize he was floating up side down under his ceiling. It would scare him so much that he woke with a terrible headache. There are people experiencing similar things during surgery.
Some people say they can leave their body and float in the air and even travel through material things. This is called astral projection.
Is it possible that the wise, learned, the medicine man and shamans of earlier cultures had the ability to connect their awareness not only to perceive nature from outside their body but also to travel the universe with the speed of the mind? Could they perceive a bigger perspective a bigger holonity. Could they perceive the tree like structure of the galaxies within their own awareness?
In the article Ouroborus eating the tale with the head you can read more about how this can be achieved.
