I thought about this topic for awhile. Through all the ebbs and flows of my lifetime I know it is good to feel good and enjoy life.
I recommend dancing and washing your face in the sun. I recommend love and wearing bows in your hair… ladies.
I recommend letting go of people or things that hurt you and embracing that which is good for you. I recommend stepping out in faith when things do not feel right or good.
I recommend telling your loved ones “I love you” at every conversation because you do not know when it will be the last time you see them. I recommend jumping into puddles full force. I recommend celebrating the use of your legs and eyes each and everyday. I recommend listening to your favorite music or a cool new song everyday.
I recommend going for the business or career you love even when naysayers discourage you; dump them. I recommend watering and growing plants. It feels good to nurture them. I recommend allowing the love of an animal to come into your life.
I recommend listening to music you would normally say was garbage, or “not for you” just to open your mind. I recommend visiting a nursing home on more than one occasion and listening to a child full of wonderment in their discoveries.
I recommend eating your vegetables and drinking lots of water. I recommend taking a college course or learning about something you think is super groovy. I recommend learning about previous generations and putting yourself in other peoples’ shoes often.
I recommend dancing the polka, drinking a beer, or trying a new herbal tea now and again. I recommend meditation.
I recommend learning about a religion that is not familiar to you and traveling as often as you can. I recommend doing something that only girls or boys are supposed to do.
I recommend reaching out to transgendered, gay, bisexual or different sexual orientations than yourself. I recommend visiting an elder person who is home alone when you can. Make the time.
I recommend patching family relations if it is possible. If not, make sure you make peace with the situation before a person crosses over.
I recommend listening to someone you thought was crazy, if even to open your mind a bit.
I recommend listening to the birds sing and being “in the now” often. I recommend taking up, learning about or watching a sport you know nothing about. It may open up your mind to new worlds.
I recommend studying another language, and culture. I recommend eating dishes you never thought you would like.
I recommend compassion and listening.
Most of all I recommend loving yourself. I, too, am a work in progress.
