Let Go! Be the Flow! – by Shuddhaanandaa Bramachari

Do you know why all your success and possessions can’t make you happy and why some mistakes and guilt steal your happiness? Do you know why things that went wrong in life bother you and keep you brooding over the past and worried about the future? It is due to your inability to release your negative emotions. You cling to them and keep complaining how life has not been fair with you.

Worries and anxieties breed in the shallow pool of unconsciousness. Anger is fanned when the mind ruminates on the negative emotional patterns which have been nurtured over a long period of time. If you hold on to old hurts, grudges and resentments, you will invariably land up in that spiral of negative emotions. They will rob your present and pull you to the past and dip you in a painful state of mind. Don’t fight your negative emotions nor try to run away, you have to LET them go. However hard it is, you have to let go of the habit of clinging to negative emotions of stress, anxieties, fear, anger, jealousy, guilt, worries and depressions. You have to, and you can.

When you unconsciously mumble in your mind about something that you don’t like, or about some hurt feeling of the past, what you are actually doing is affirming your wish to be unhappy through negative affirmation. Positive affirmations and attitudes cannot be developed overnight for so much undoing is needed to clean the slate of the mind that was trained with negative thinking. You have to persevere. The mantra of happiness is: let go of the unwanted in the mind and welcome the whole and holy and allow the mind to soak in the positive energy that will bestow upon you health and happiness, now and in the future.

When life becomes unmanageably turbulent and no effort on your part helps, then it is time you withdraw, stop your efforts, become quiet, just let go, let the universe take over; it invariably finds the right path for you. This silent effortless state is your true friend for that is the time mind gets the chance to distill itself and connect to the higher Mind, which is the inexhaustible source of infinite potential.

Meditation is a process of distillation. If you have muddy water in a glass, you can’t drink it; all your efforts to clean it would only make the water muddier. Instead just let go, have patience, the mud will settle at the bottom and you can drink. So also daily meditation is to allow the mind to let go, to purge the dirt and dross and allow the luminous mind to blossom! Make it your priority, and see the magic that is life!

Time is the ultimate healer. At times when you are too worried about anything then you need to embrace this wisdom that you need to just let time settle it! Once you resign and relax in meditation, time reveals its mystery and secrets. Why carry the burden of the negative emotional baggage on your shoulders? Drop your shoulders, relax, let go, let God. Focus on your breath, which will calm your mind and will shift your focus from negative brooding to the light of consciousness. If God can take care of trillions of galaxies then He/She can take care of you too! Why allow your ego to look for solutions? Just be silent and the Universe will whisper to you the best way to peace and happiness!

If you detect disturbing thoughts or emotions stealing your peace of mind, don’t feel bad or guilty, and start to fight it out. The more you resist, the more it will frustrate you. Take a deep breath, hold the breath for a few seconds, and exhale deeply, slow and long, witnessing the negative energies melting away into the light of the universe. Observe your thoughts for a few seconds without judgment, and let go!

Have you watched surfing? The art of surfing is learned over a long period of consistent practice. The surfer never fights the waves, but learns to move and flow with the energy of the waves. Life is painful when you battle to make things your way. Trust in the higher intelligence. Let go. Flow with the flow. Life is a flow anyway! Be a surfer of life energy. Enjoy surfing! Enjoy life as the ultimate gift. Enjoy the flow that is meditation.

Let Go! True wisdom is to live life conscious of its real nature of change and flow with the flow. Once you learn the art of letting go your life simplifies.
The roots of attachments are loosened and the lotus of devotion and compassion blossoms. You taste the nectar of true freedom and enlightened vision of life in its totality beyond its fragmentations.
Let Go! Be the Flow!
