Listen by Donielle

When I hear the word Listen I think of a Shel Silverstein poem…
‘Listen to the MUSTN’TS child
Listen to the DON’TS,
Listen to the SHOULDN’TS
The IMPOSSIBLES the WON’TS
Listen to the Never Haves
Then listen close to me-
Anything can happen, child
ANYTHING can be.’

I love this poem. It reminds me that I can achieve any goal I set out to achieve. Even when things start to look bleak or it seems that there are many obstacles in my way if I read this poem I remember that Anything is possible, Anything can happen, Anything can be!
How many times do I give in and listen to the naysayers, the people that don’t think or want me to accomplish what I want to accomplish? How many times is the biggest naysayer Me? Marianne Williamson says “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” Why do we tend to be programed to stay back in the sidelines? Why would it be so horrible to succeed? What changes in you when you flip the switch inside of you that makes it okay to succeed?
I have found that if I can get past the fears and move forward with the project or goal that my worry was unnecessary. That when I just Do It that the reward is so great compared to what I had anticipated. It is such an amazing feeling to accomplish something that was scary.
For me even being asked to and writing this article was a daunting endeavor, and I am excited to see the end result as well as the other articles in this great magazine!
So thank you for listening to my babble for a few minutes. Remember to take the leap, do something that is frightening and see what is waiting for you on the other side!

http://www.facebook.com/doniellesaxtonkmi Hi, I am excited to be apart of The Magic Happens! I live in Centennial Colorado and am a Massage Therapist/Bodyworker by trade. The human body fascinates me and I love learning new ways of looking at it and new ways of working with it so that my clients can reach their full potential! I have been doing body work officially for over 16 years and unofficially since I was 12 years old. I have been told many times that I should write. I have never really thought of myself as an writer but have managed to write a couple nice articles about the work I do. I am excited (and a little nervous) to create some works for The Magic Happens!
