What is it about heart? The power and enormity of such a simple word that means so much. It is the essence of life!

My biggest goal in this present journey is to always operate and live from the heart, By this I mean to always treat others as I would wish to be treated, see the best in every individual, and to always be grateful. These ingredients are what inspire my writing. There are so many days that I question my journey, my writing and my life’s direction. There are many times that I feel like that no one wants to listen to my voice. The lesson here is to get out of my own head and stop overthinking. It is a practice that can become so corrosive. Too much time in an unsupervised playground (the brain) can be dangerous. My hat is off to the Buddhist monks who are always smiling. Detachment can be sooooo awesome.

To come from the heart is to be genuine. It is about acting from the soul and be able to trust implicitly in your intuition/gut. Sometimes it is so much easier and right to trust your gut/intuition than to get lost in the laborious decision process of the brain. Overthinking is quicksand.

A full heart is happy, centered and has a true sense of purpose. Somehow, we need to focus more on our insides instead of everyone’s outsides. When you let go and trust in the flow of life, a magical thing happens, we become grateful. How we choose to move forward is an act of heart. Why is so much of what we chat about heart brings such joy, So much of life is about really living from the heart,

Heart is the engine that powers us forward and keeps us on course. It is what powers us to soldier on in spite of any setbacks. So much of life can be so mechanical when we forget to let the magic of an ordinary day enter. How we choose to move forward is a simple choice, Ordinary magic, ordinary days.

What is it about heart that conjures up visions of magic? So much of life is such a cold reality, yet when the heart becomes involved, possibilities are endless. It is about opening the our eyes and heart to the magic of the simple miracles that we often miss.

Heart is the engine that powers us forward. Sometimes what you may lack in raw talent nay be overcome with a landslide of heart. Remember, “you gotta have heart, miles and miles of heart.” The very essence of each of us resides in our heart. It defines who we are and points the way on how to live our lives and the direction of the journey.

Each decision we make is a collaboration between our rational brains and or heart and soul. I feel that some of my most spiritual advances have come as a result of trusting my intuition. The eyes are not only a window to the soul but also can speak to the measure of a full heart.

As a horseman, I have been witness to some incredible performances of what heart really is. Greatness in Triple Crown wins by Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Affirmed and American Pharoah. These accomplishments are monumental. Heart, heart and more heart.

Something that goes hand in hand with heart, is of course “love”. It is the single most powerful force in the universe. It is what keeps us alive and thriving. Love changes lives, history and maybe even destiny. Love drives the wheel of peace, serenity and happiness. Heart is a commitment to a real peace of mind.

I am moved by history and the myriad and mosaic of the wonderful stories of the many storied lives of our forefathers. I marvel at what they overcame. Common bonds are courage, perseverance, and heart. One of my pillars is Abraham Lincoln. His eloquence is unmatched. My favorite is”

” the mystic chords of memory stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature”.

It really is all about living from the heart. God, to have had a chance to have dinner with Mr. Lincoln.

Music is another medium which expresses heart and soul. It is singing from the heart. The stories of life, struggles, triumphs and tragedies are brought to the fore from voices of the heart. We are captivated by the voices of and from the journey. These are songs that move you to a wide range of emotions. Often each is a tribute to the heart of humanity. Music lifts the veil off dark places and reminds us to trust in the blessings and miracles of everyday life.

All of the arts in their own right come as a result of inspiration of the heart. Bless the creativity of humanity. I visited the National Museum of the American Indian and was immediately in awe of the structure of the building. Most amazing was the roof which resembled a teepee with an opening at the peak. A guide said that this was so that when an individual died, the soul would be able to rise up and out to the Universe. The belief was that this was just one plane of existence. Souls do move on.

To me, heart is simply trying each day to be my best self. Some days, no problem, other days not so much. I am only human after all.

I have a full heart because each moment and each day are a gift and blessing. All of my writing and actions originate from the heart. I believe that it is the only way to be truly honest, genuine and real. It is truly about the power of love..

Heart is love in its pure essence. Heart is pure power as it allows us to rise above the menial and pushes us to rise above the mundane and find the magic. Heart is simply the essence and beauty of who we are.

May each of you stop and breathe in the magic of who we are. Peace be with you and may your journey be blessed.
