Why do we know something is true? What do we know is true? How do we trust in that feeling?
This is something we all like to ask ourselves at some point in our lives. How do we measure the truth?
By the truth, I mean the deeper meaning of truth.
Let me delve into that a little further. We all know that two plus two equals four. That is a mathematical truth. Useful and practical in applications in our lives, but is it the truth? Swearing an oath in court to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God. Is that the truth? Some would say yes. What I’m talking about, is the universal truth, the ultimate truth.
What is that you say?
In my experience, it is the truth that you hold in your heart when something rings true to you. Where do you feel it? In your heart center or chakra. Am I right? The funny thing about the heart is, that it knows the ultimate truth, the universal truth, the truth that is just right for you. I’m going to repeat that, the truth that is just right for you or right just for you. How could it not be? You can’t follow someone else’s truth, you can only go into your heart and and see if that something is just right for you.
Let me give you an example, a friend says that they have read a book on personal growth, it’s the best thing they have ever read on the subject and you just “have to” read it. They practically force it on you. You decide you’ll read it since you respect and value your friend’s opinion. You read it and totally agree because it touches a place in your heart and you identify and connect to it. You go back to your friend and tell them they were right and say “It was the greatest book. I really connected with the ideas in it.” Another friend who you respect and admire comes to you with a book on the same subject by a different author and says you just “have to” read it. You read it and in this case you don’t get it, nothing in the book strikes a chord in your heart or connects you to it in any way.
What do you say to this person who you admire and respect about the second book? Here’s what I would say “You know that I value you and your belief that this is an amazing piece of writing, but for me it didn’t touch my heart. I could see how it would be right for you and thank you for bringing it to my attention.”
I can pretty much guarantee that this person be your friend, family member or even a mentor will understand your point of view and won’t be upset that you didn’t get it. If they don’t understand that’s okay, you can only do what works for you.
The key thing is, that the heart knows; your heart. It knows what the right thing is for you. Follow your heart, go into your heart every moment of every day, it will never lead you astray. The opening of the heart is the path to Peace, Love, Joy and Happiness. Your Peace, Love, Joy and Happiness.
