What about tomorrow?
What is tomorrow? When will it come? What will it bring? How will I know that I will be okay tomorrow?
These are all questions we like to ask ourselves. Sometimes our mind is like a monkey, constantly playing tricks on us and asking questions that we have no answer to. How do we avoid this trap? I think the best answer to that is to understand yourself a little bit.
“To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom.” Socrates
How do you mean that? Well, if I was to say I went within my own mind and looked at it from a perspective of someone who wasn’t me, it would give me an objective view. Did you ever notice how easy it is to solve someone else’s problems? Piece of cake, right? When you get involved in your own stuff you have a stake in it, you can’t look at it as if you were solving it for someone else or even trying to get rid of those annoying nagging thoughts. So, I think the key is, looking at yourself through a different lens. We are all part of the same universe. Therefore, if we see ourselves as part of everything and not separate, we can begin to understand how we might solve a challenge or anxiety by understanding that everyone is in the same boat.
Now you say “That’s easy for you David”and I say, not really. It isn’t easy it’s downright challenging and frustrating sometimes.” If we begin to use our creative minds and let the heart give us the answer. We can use that connection to Source or whatever you want to call it, to alleviate anxiety, doubt, worry, fear and stop those thoughts from interfering with our lives.
Okay, so how do we do that? You go into your heart center. Take some deep breaths, hold yourself there and the answer will come. Pretty soon you won’t have to do that at all, the answers just come to you. How cool is that? So, then the question of what will happen tomorrow will come. It might be about what you intend to do or how you intend that things are going to go. For instance, you may have a job interview and you’ll get that message about the right things to say to your interviewer or you’ll set the intention that things will go well for the entire day. You may just want to, upon jumping out of bed or getting ready for the day, go into your heart center and say that it’s going to be a great day and everybody I meet it’s going to be as happy, connected, positive as I am. I have a little saying,
“May the love light shine on everyone, including myself and everything today and every day.”
You can finish that with an Amen or “it is so.” It really doesn’t matter, because it’s about your intention and your connection to the universe and your heart center that brings all these things to your daily life.
So, my advice is to not focus on what’s going to happen tomorrow but how we are going to bring that energy of the Heart Center into today.
It is so.
