Every dollar store has then but if you prefer long lasting, good quality, you may want to shop the small specialty stores for that special scent. For many, the mind is so cluttered with ruminating thoughts, pessimism about the state of the world or life circumstances, the daunting to-do list, the should-haves or should-not-haves… Not to mention the distraction of cell phones, computers and television. There is not much space left to receive. It’s a good thing that it only takes an instant to allow inspiration.
When I sit in front of a blank computer screen, staring at it for inspiration, I often wonder if it’s really true. You know, the theory about the million monkeys typing for however long will render the complete works of Shakespeare… That’s mind boggling. All I am really interested in is being able to corral the random thoughts floating around in my mind and have them visually appear! In cohesive order! Like MAGIC!!

So much fun to begin something new I think. You get a chance to redo anything that didn’t work or serve your highest good! Like the beginning of a new week after a weekend of relaxing and refreshing your mind, you get to jump back in the sadle and begin to create. I love the fact that living in the now doesn’t keep us attached to yesterday. Good thing because it is gone and cannot be brought back unless of course it was the best day ever and then maybe you want a replay.

I am not aging. I am transforming from the fertile Hare Mother to the Wise Owl. I have seen her everywhere I look lately, she is calling to me, guiding me to the next phase in my life. There is an inherent beauty to the owl and the gifts she brings when a woman is changing and evolving. I do not fear the mystery but rather embrace it. I can feel her stroking my soul filling me with a new wonder and a new outlook. She is telling me to be fluid and accept my new life without reservation. She is encouraging me to see each wrinkle, stretch mark and scar as a memory or a lesson learned, they are not ugly because they are a part of me and a part of my legacy.

As we look at 2016 we have a lot of possibilities. I thought I would set down and do a tarot scope for everyone, to give you an overview of 2016. Because 2016 is a nine year, 2+1+6= 9. So I am going to shuffle my tarot nine times and I am going to pick every ninth card for the reading of each sign.
I am going to break it down into astrology signs so that it’s in a little more order.
Have to say, it’s been pretty educational around these parts, what with three cats in the household. Now I know that many people think about how to train their animals to do their bidding, you know, so that the animals can fit in and become one with the status quo. Let me tell you that in this house we have ALL learned that ‘fitting in’ is as more about the three humans learning to adapt to the schedules and occasional whims of the cats.

I came to downhill skiing later in life than most, in my early twenties. My ex-husband and his family were avid ski enthusiasts so it was join ’em or spend every weekend and winter holiday alone. I love the outdoors so I was up for the challenge.

All things are possible. After all, many very wise people have said so. Of course, the dictionary would tell you anything that could realistically happen is a possibility. But what is a “real” possibility? Many people play the lottery because they think winning is a possibility but is thinking something might be possible the same as creating a possibility for ourselves? I don’t believe it is. For me a possibility is something I hold on to, nurture, and develop a belief in. For me, possibilities are only possible because I believe they are.

This month has been a crazy ride taking me all over the emotional map. There have been really good, shining moments coupled with some dark ones. As much as I love this time of the year, it is also been a rough patch to endure. It has called my daily practice of being grateful for three things into question, like a test. Is it lip service or am I truly grateful? I believe to my core that I am as in doing this daily practice helps bring light to darker places. I get the feeling of being disconnected from much of what we celebrate this time of year. Much of what I miss is a sense of belonging . Part of it is a desire to be part of something meaningful, creative and memorable. Kind of silly, but heartfelt.
