How are you? Or maybe I should say who are you? Are you a person? Are you your job? Are you someone’s child?
These are questions we all asks ourselves at some point in our lives. How many people are defined by how others see them? By the way we look, act and interact with other people? How many times has someone said to you at a party, What do you do? Then you go on to explain what your job is and that is your definition of what you are. I like to think that you are not what you do, you are what you act. By act, I mean your actions.
If we are all children of the Universe and connected to Everything then our actions define who we are. If we are truly living in love and compassion for everything ,then we are love and compassion. This is very easy to say and much more difficult to put into action. I like to think that it takes awareness in every moment to do this. No it is not easy, but it is very simple. All you have to do is stop, take a moment, then focus on love and compassion and you will arrive there.
What a great way to start your day! Sitting with yourself in awareness and feeling that love and compassion for everything. This is great because it sets the tone for the rest of the day. How cool is that? Now the next time someone asks you what you do or what your job is, you can say “I’m a child of the Universe living in love and compassion for everything!” If that’s too much for you, then just say “I’m me and I love being me.”
