What does it mean to wait?
To wait is to simply stop, or pause and take a breath.
But why don’t we want to wait?
In my experience don’t wait anymore because they think and feel that the world is too fast AROUND them. They think they have to rush to keep up.
What we have failed to realise is that the world is only fast WITHIN US.
And we have created this anxiety and impatience that leads to stresses of all kinds and that’s never a good thing as it’s increasing all the time.
I have observed that we are easily allowing ourselves to be distracted, especially when we are confronted by situations we don’t want to deal with. It’s easy to keep putting off important life changing decisions.
So, you see it’s easier to keep busy when you don’t want to have to deal with anything. Ignoring what is needed to be talked about and addressed may require change.
And we all know change isn’t easy for any of us – we do anything to avoid it and that requires not to stop, not to wait and not to breathe.
What would happen if we did wait?
Where do I begin?
Allowing yourself that little time to just STOP, WAIT, BREATH and THINK……
It brings you back to reality for a moment.
In comparison to mindfulness which, lets be honest, is just a more niche word for meditation both do a similar thing, and that’s allowing yourself time to catch up.
The safest and most wise decisions are made through processing, evaluating and coming up with a decision.
So make a drink, sit down, and breathe. Close your eyes stroke your pet, look out of the window and watch the world go by.
You may be surprised at what transpires every time.
